Boulder CO

A Unique Conference in a Beautiful Setting

UX STRAT USA 2023 will take place in beautiful Boulder CO on September 11 - 13.

Pre-conference workshops will be offered on September 11 at the exquisite venue of Hotel Boulderado. As the first luxury hotel in Boulder, it's a blend of Italian Renaissance and Spanish Revival styles and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (address: 2115 13th St, Boulder, CO 80302).

The main conference with presentations will take place on September 12 - 13 at the classic Boulder Theater in downtown Boulder one block off Pearl St. (address: 2032 14th St, Boulder, CO 80302).

Boulder is an amazing town with the picturesque Flatiron mountains just on the edge of town, the world famous Pearl Street pedestrian mall, lots of open air dining, and many easily accessible hiking trails. We purposely schedule the conference adjacent to a weekend for people that would like to combine some amazing leisure time with the best in design strategy and innovation. Here's a Boulder Visitor Guide that describes many of the offerings that contribute to Boulder consistently ranking in the USA's top places to live.

Hotels

We stopped reserving conference hotel room blocks when the pandemic started, because our attendees' accommodation preferences and behaviors became very individualized and difficult for us to plan for adequately. There are two hotels walking distance from our venue: Hotel Boulderado (classic, old-fashioned) and the St. Julien (upscale hotel, more expensive). About a mile away near 28th St. and Canyon there are a number of hotels that are much newer and also less expensive (Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton Inn, Residence Inn, etc.).

Transportation To and From the Airport

The Denver airport is about 45 miles from Boulder. Rental cars are an option, but if you’re staying near Boulder Theater, a car may turn out to be unnecessary because Pearl St. Mall restaurants, bars and shops are just a block away. Uber and Lyft are active in the Denver/Boulder area. There is a very low cost city bus that goes from the Denver airport to downtown Boulder and back. You need exact change to use this option ($11 last year).

Restaurants and Bars

A wide variety of restaurants and bars are just a few steps from Boulder Theater in the world famous Pearl St. pedestrian zone, including lots of outdoor and rooftop options with a panoramic view of the nearby mountains.
